SFU

As an online community builder and facilitator with the SFU Centre for Dialogue, I helped create a national vision for Canada's role in the world. Travelling across the country and engaging people online, we modelled participatory policy-making and experimented with deliberative dialogue methods in the digital space. The project closed with an innovative day-long in-person and remotely connected "ForeignPolicyCamp" – an unconference where participants jointly created the program using Open Space Technology.  As a model for how to engage people in crowdsourcing policy on complex issues, this work still offers rich lessons.
